I am always brainstorming fun, hands-on learning activities for my kids. I’ve seen activities using crayons, markers, and paint to combine the colors and teach children about the primary colors.
For me, I wanted to create something different. My kids already love mixing Play-Doh, so that lightbulb hit. Why not create Play-Doh at home? Then have my kids mix it to see if it creates the colors purple, orange, and green.
After, I made three big batches of red, blue, and yellow Play-Doh. All I hoped was for the colors to mix! They did mix!!

Primary Color Activity
Now that you have all three of your Play-Doh Colors: Blue, Red, and Yellow.
Grab a piece of Blue and Red. Then, mix the Play-Doh until it creates the color Purple.
The next color you can try is Red and Yellow. Mix the Play-Doh until it creates the color Orange.
Lastly, grab a piece from Blue and Yellow. Mix the Play-Doh until it creates the color Green.
How to Store Play-Doh
The best way to store the Play-Doh after your kids are done playing is to store it in a ziplock bag or a mason jar.
Play-Doh should last you a few months.
